About this test
Modifiers and repeats
Modifier keydowns count as presses, and OS repeat streams also add counts. Use the reset button to clear the session before a fresh measurement.
No history is stored
Counts exist only in memory for the active session. Refreshing the page clears everything, which keeps privacy simple.

Does the counter include repeated keydown events?
Yes. Holding a key produces a repeat stream, and each repeated keydown adds to the count.
Can I clear the count without reloading?
Yes. The Reset button clears counts and the event state immediately.
Does the counter include modifier keys like Shift and Ctrl?
Yes, the tool logs all key presses, including Shift, Ctrl, Alt, and other modifier keys, as long as they trigger a keydown event. Per-key counts show each key separately, so you can see exactly which keys were pressed.
Can I see my typing speed in real time?
It displays total presses and presses per second for the active session. This gives an immediate measure of typing pace. However, it does not calculate words per minute because key presses vary by language and text.
Will my key press stats remain after I close or refresh the page?
No. The counter records only the active session in memory. Closing or refreshing the page resets all totals and per-key counts to zero. Use the clear button to reset manually before continuing.
